riviera reverie
“i wanted our wedding to represent a mix of cultures, so it was a blend of old world italian elegance and santa barbara’s lovely outdoor lifestyle,” says santa barbara native Katja Decker – Sadowski, who exchanged vows with Pietro Amirkhanian at her parents’ home on the Riviera, where Pietro had proposed during a sunset toast in front of both of their families. Surrounded by epic city and ocean views, the backyard ceremony took place among 175 guests, followed by a Season’s Catering Italian feast of local fresh fish, gnocchi in a Meyer Lemon sauce, and orange-marinated flank steak. The reception continued into the wee hours of the morning with a dance party on the illuminated plexiglass-covered swimming pool. Following the celebration, the newlyweds embarked on a monthlong honeymoon to India and the Maldives.
